The art of working with horses

Working with horses has always filled me and gave me a feeling of "home". Now I would like to pass on this feeling of "home" to others, working with horses can be so much more than just riding or going to tournaments. She can become a family that grows every day and with which we can grow beyond ourselves every day.

Every person is a puzzle, this is the beginning of mine

Our life consists of an incredible number of different puzzle pieces filled with experiences, emotions and living beings. My puzzle is motley, there are round corners, jagged and oval pieces, monochrome and printed and sometimes a piece doesn't seem to fit at all, while some arise and change, others disappear and fade. At one point there is one with a chestnut-colored quarter horse gelding, his name was Colt and he was the best teacher I had. I learned to ride on him, he had to endure many hours with me, from the first gallop jump to the first tournament, from the western badge to the first fall. He awakened and shaped my passion for riding and working with horses. Another is provided with a medicine stick, with strong colors. On it we can see my interest in ancient medicine and herbalism, I already read the first books about herbs when I was only 10 years old. The study to become an animal health practitioner at Paracelsus and the BNA for small mammals according to § 11 Animal Welfare Act as part of my work as a zoo keeper, as well as a first aid course for horses, were able to fill the puzzle with further knowledge. Another round piece of the puzzle, on which the moon can be seen, tells of my first contact with the aura. I will never forget how I came home from a friend in the evening, it was a full moon and I was quietly admiring him on the street when I noticed dazzling red and blue colors around him. At that time I had not yet dealt with aura work and so this was one of the core experiences that shaped my path to aura work. A very large piece of the puzzle with man and horse shows my way into the future and reflects the past. In order to share my passion for horses with people and to pass on experiences with problem horses, I have trained as a licensed Curra Equus riding teacher and therapist and will finish my trainer license at the EWU next year. I was particularly influenced by my former mare Cherokee, who came into my life as a "problem horse" and taught me that the only "problems" we humans are. She taught me to stand by my fears, read between the lines and learn to speak the language of the horses.

"We are,

when we are. "

Working with animals, especially horses, means for me continuous work on oneself. Every horse, be it a pony or a warmblood up to the Shire Horse, is individual in its nature and type. However, they all have one thing in common, this is a common thread running through my work. They all want to be loved and understood. That sounds very banal at first, but if you go inside, this simple sentence applies to everything, even to a plant. What we cultivate and try to understand, to whom we show love and warmth, that thrives. Many of you are now certainly thinking: "How should I face my horse without being unjust and defending my space?". A consistent and fair treatment of horses is absolutely important. If one observes the interplay in a herd, the horses also defend themselves, warn and determine their ranking, everyone who has horses himself knows that this is not necessarily carried out timidly. The difference between the herd of horses and human society is that horses feel the now. You are not carrying any hate or stress from home and work with you at this moment and you take it out on each other. It is the same with a very anxious horse; a person who has no idea about horses now works with him, it is often much quieter than with an "horse-experienced owner". The beginner "does not yet" know what can happen and transfers his calm to the horse. So if I work with a "fear horse", I first have to overcome my own fears in order to radiate calm and security and to act rationally and sensibly.

"We are when we are": means for me that we cannot pretend with horses and learn not to have to either. We make mistakes, we learn, we develop. The horses listen to us, they understand us, they can be our best friend, but they can also reflect our worst fears. We can be with you without being judged.

I would be happy to explain my training method to you in detail in a personal conversation or telephone call.

Cherokee of Forest Moon

~ a special piece of the puzzle

A very special piece of the puzzle in my life shaped Cherokee. When she came to me, she was given up as a "problem horse". She has been a very dominant lead mare, hoisting, leading, or in general acting together with people was not a matter of course for her. She was an incredible teacher and a milestone on my way. The beginning was difficult, the stable owners did not dare to go in to feed her, she often kicked people without warning, climbed and bit. But through calm and patience we managed to win and consolidate their trust. I worked a lot with her in ground and free work. After a few months, Cherokee had changed, she lay down on the field on command, enjoyed the free work and especially the free circles, as well as the Spanish step. She was very reliable under the saddle and enjoyed all challenges. With her I learned to overcome my own fears. We can pick out a lot or learn a lot in courses, but most of all the horses teach us themselves. A very important trainer in my life and my mother once said to me: "Nobody can ever ride, because with horses we learn until we die and beyond". And she's right, not just about horses, we learn with each passing day of our lives.
